Christmas of 2018 in Windsor-Essex County was an unusually bleak day, wet and cold. Late on December 25, Shanique went to a friend's home to meet up before heading out to the bar. The two men got into an orange Honda and left the friend's Windsor home. They made their way to a LaSalle bar, only to find out it had closed for Christmas. The two continued driving further into LaSalle when an altercation ensued. Not many details have been given, but around 9 pm, somewhere by Matchette Road and Golfview Drive in LaSalle Shaniquethe victim fled the car. He'd been stabbed multiple times in the arm and upper torso. Making his way through a "wooded area" he eventually came to some houses, where he was able to seek help. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition and remained there until the 27th when he was allowed home in stable condition. When police asked the victim about the assailant, he admitted to knowing Shanique, but wouldn't give any other information. Shanique was last seen fleeing the scene of the crime in the orange Honda they had arrived in.
Shanique White is described as being a 6 ft. tall, 180 lbs. black male with brown eyes and black hair. He also doesn't appear in the photos to have any visible tattoos. Unfortunately, as the suspect has connections to Detroit, MI, and Pheonix, AZ, and since Windsor is a bordering city of Detroit, it is likely that Shanique White has fled the country. A warrant for his arrest has been issued nationwide. There have still been no leads to Shanique's whereabouts to this day, especially since he is likely outside of Canada.
You or someone you know could be the key to bringing this man to justice. He is currently still wanted by the LaSalle, Ontario Police for the attempted murder of an unnamed 20-year-old man. If you or someone you know recognizes him, please contact the LaSalle police.
The LaSalle Police Service can be reached at 519-969-5210 or you can contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477.
